In Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, you can customize not only the Jackdaw but also the appearance of your entire crew. There are seven different crew outfits available to unlock. Some become available automatically as you progress through the game or can be purchased from merchants, while others require considerably more effort, such as completing every Naval Contract or collecting rare materials.
The overview below shows every crew outfit, its unlock requirements, and the conditions needed to obtain it. Further down, you’ll find all the important details about the more demanding outfits.
All Crew Outfits and Unlock Requirements
There are a total of seven crew outfits in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. Three of them can be unlocked fairly early, while the others require significantly more time and effort. If you’re only interested in changing your crew’s appearance, you’ll unlock the first few outfits early in the game. The final two, however, require a much greater investment. In particular, the Deceased Crew Attire, which requires 206 Bones, and the Handsome Devils Attire, unlocked by completing all 15 Naval Contracts, are among the most time-consuming unlocks.

Which Crew Outfits You Can Unlock Immediately or Early
Three of the seven crew outfits can be obtained with very little effort. Your crew already has the Standard Crew Attire at the start of the game, so it does not need to be unlocked. The Rugged Rags Attire is sold by every Harbourmaster and costs 900 Reales and 50 Cloth. For most players, this will probably be the first additional crew outfit they purchase.
The Dark Animus Corsair Attire comes from the Undertow Animus Project. Once you reach Level 5 there, the crew outfit is unlocked automatically.
Buy the Deceased Crew Attire from the Secret Vendor
The Deceased Crew Attire transforms your entire crew into a skeleton crew. Unlike most other crew outfits, it is not sold by a Harbourmaster but by a hidden vendor on an unmarked island south of Andreas Island.
The vendor is located at approximately 549, 638. The island is south of Andreas Island and northeast of Salt Key Bank. Some sources instead list the coordinates as 551, 639. Both coordinates lead to the same location.
The vendor charges 206 Bones for the outfit. You can obtain Bones by skinning animals and fish, or alternatively buy them from the Treasure Dealer in Great Inagua for 1,000 Reales each. Buying them saves time, but with 206 Bones required, it quickly becomes expensive. If you regularly collect hunting and fishing materials during normal gameplay, you can significantly reduce the grind later. I wouldn’t recommend farming Bones specifically. If you regularly skin animals as you encounter them, you’ll already have collected a large portion of the required Bones by the time you need them.
How to Unlock the Handsome Devils Attire
To unlock the Handsome Devils Attire, you need to complete all 15 Naval Contracts. As an additional reward, you’ll also receive the Black Skull Sails for the Jackdaw.
Naval Contracts become available after completing the main mission “This Old Cove” in Sequence 4. Only then can you work through all 15 contracts and unlock the crew outfit. For many players, this may even be the last regular crew outfit they unlock because you really do need to complete every Naval Contract.
How to Get the Sleek Crew Attire from a Treasure Map
The Sleek Crew Attire is not purchased from a vendor but obtained as a reward from buried treasure. The reward bundle also includes an Elite Ship Wheel and the Gilt Lined Sails for the Jackdaw.
There are a total of 27 Treasure Maps in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. At the moment, the Sleek Crew Attire cannot be definitively linked to a specific Treasure Map. Since no individual Treasure Map has been clearly confirmed yet, it’s worth checking your inventory after every buried treasure you dig up. That way, you’ll immediately notice if the outfit has been unlocked.
Get the Black & Gold Attire as DLC
The Black & Gold Attire is not one of the crew outfits you can unlock through regular gameplay. You can obtain it either through the Deluxe Edition of the game or by purchasing the Master Assassin Naval Pack separately. The pack costs €9.99 and includes the outfit regardless of your progress in the game. If you’re only aiming for 100% completion in the base game, you can ignore this DLC, as it cannot be unlocked through normal gameplay.
Which Crew Outfits Are Free?
With the exception of the Black & Gold Attire, every crew outfit can be unlocked without spending additional real money. Depending on the outfit, you’ll only need Reales and Cloth, collect Bones, reach Level 5 in the Undertow Animus Project, complete all Naval Contracts, or find the required treasure. The Black & Gold Attire, on the other hand, remains exclusive to owners of the Deluxe Edition or buyers of the Master Assassin Naval Pack. So if you’re aiming for 100% completion in the base game, you don’t need to spend any additional money unless you also want this exclusive crew outfit.
