The magical game world of Hogwarts Legacy invites you to explore and discover. You can cast spells, solve puzzles, prepare potions and tame magical creatures. You will also find many chests in the game, which can be opened and often contain handy items.
A special form of chests are the eye chests. Unlike the normal chests, these cannot be opened with a chest minigame. Developer Avalanche Software has come up with something very special for this and provided these containers with a magic eye. In this guide we will show you how to open these special chests in Hogwarts Legacy.
How to open the eye chests in Hogwarts Legacy
Later in the game, you’ve probably already come across the strange chests with a big eye on them. The impractical thing: they close up as soon as you approach them and they see you. Unlike the normal chests in the game, they do not contain items, but a whole 500 gold. However, you need to know how to open them first.
The trick to open the eye chests is actually quite simple and should already literally catch your eye with the texture. The chest simply must not see you, then it will not close. To make yourself invisible you can either cast the Disillusion spell, or drink an invisibility potion.
The spell as well as the potion disguise your appearance and you become invisible for a short time during the duration of the effect. Thus, the eye chest can not see you when you come closer and does not close. Additionally, you should sneak up on the eye chests. Harry Potter would certainly have an easier time of it: he would simply throw on his camouflage cloak.
