One of the trickier puzzles are the magically locked doors in the game. In this guide we will show you how to open these special doors in Hogwarts Legacy.

How to open the puzzle doors in Hogwarts Legacy
One of the many puzzles to solve in Hogwarts Legacy are the locked doors with the beast symbols, question marks and icons. If you find one of the locked doors at the beginning of the game, opening it should become a real test of patience. However, to solve the puzzle you need a special clue, which you can find somewhere in Hogwarts.
The task now is to find this note with the clue. Go to the Hogwarts Library and there to the Flea Flame area classroom divination. There a path leads to the attic. Once there, you will see one of the puzzle doors of Hogwarts, and on the opposite side of the room, a blackboard and a box. How to proceed with the puzzle doors is written on the board. In the box you will find a textbook page that reveals which number belongs to which magical being.
These were composed as follows:
- 0 – animal creatures
- 1 – Unicorn
- 2 – Graphorn
- 3 – Hydra with three heads
- 4 – animal creature which looks like an owl
- 5 – Animal creatures with five legs
- 6 – lizard
- 7 – Tentacle animal creature
- 8 – Spider
- 9 – Hydra with nine heads
How to solve the door puzzles in Hogwarts Legacy
With the help of the board and the clues on the book page, you can now solve the door puzzles. On the door you will see two different triangles. In the center is a large number, in the corners is an animal symbol, a number and a question mark. You must reach the number in the middle of the triangle.
Each animal represents a number between 0 and 9 – This must be combined with the number in the other corner to make the final number in the middle. So the question mark of the triangle must be exchanged by you with the number you are looking for.
As an example, let’s take the following door:
Each of the locked doors displays two triangles with different combinations of animal creatures, numbers and question marks. Let’s start with the upper triangle. You have to reach 21 here. Given is an 11 and the animal Graphorn (= number 2). Thus, the question mark must be replaced by an animal symbol, which corresponds to the number 8. According to the clue found, this is the spider. Now interact with the corresponding switch until the spider is displayed.
A 17 is needed to solve the lower triangle. Given is the animal being with five legs (= number 5) and the nine-headed hydra (= number 9). To get the required number 17 , you have to replace the question mark with a 3. So you have to change the switch to the Hydra with three heads (= number 3).
Once you know how to solve these door puzzles in Hogwarts Legacy, it’s not that hard. And you don’t have to be a math whiz either, which should make us all happy.
