© Warner Bros.

The open game world of Hogwarts Legacy invites you to explore and discover. You can cast spells, prepare potions, open chests and solve different puzzles. However, you should sometimes be careful during your exploration: Sometimes you will encounter particularly strong enemies, which have been brought into the game as bosses.

In this guide, we will introduce you to these strong enemies and show you where you can find them in Hogwarts Legacy.

These are the infamous enemies in Hogwarts Legacy

Location: The Valley of Hogwarts

  • The Grimm and the White Wolf: Go to Keenbridge and follow the river west. Where the river splits into two smaller rivers, follow it north to the mountains. Once there, go to the cave in the mountain, where Inferi and two of his wolves are waiting for you.
  • Morass Troll: Travel to the Flea Flame location “Northern Swamp” and cross the river. Now walk north and you will see the troll, which is guarded by large swamp toads.
  • Troll by Alexandra Rickett: Journey to the village of Brockburrow, located southeast of Hogwarts. There you will receive the quest “Fight Trolls” from Alexandra. Once you have accepted it, you will find the troll in the southern direction and can finish it off.

Location: Hogsmeade Valley

  • Rampant Swamp Scratcher: Travel to the Psyllium location “Swamp at the North Ford (East)” and from there head south, where you will already spot the nest of the Big Bad Toad. A little tip: Before you tackle the big toad, send the smaller toads in the immediate area to toad heaven.

Location: Feldcroft area

  • Belgruff the Thug: Belgruff is located in an old ruined castle amidst more normal enemies. Head to Feldcroft and go east until you also hit the crumbling Rookwood Castle. However, before you go after the goblin, you should take out the enemies in the vicinity so that they don’t complicate the fight even more.

More Boss in Hogwarts Legacy

  • Powerful Wizards & Goblins: Throughout the story of HL you will encounter powerful dark wizards or goblins. A fight with the dark mages doesn’t have to be a boss fight, but with their leaders it can be. One name that already came up was Victor Rookwood, who is the leader of the Dark Wizards group. Tactics against them differ depending on the attack pattern and strengths or weaknesses. Among the Goblins, one name already stands out at release: Ranrok is the leader of the Goblin Rebellion and will oppose you.
Against enemy sorceresses or mages, a mix of offensive and defensive spells should be cast.
  • Armored Troll: On your first visit to Hogsmeade, you will make acquaintance with the Armored Troll. In battle, you should use your environment and use the Ancient Magic attack to hurl structures and objects from the environment at the troll.
  • Steel Guardian (Pensieve Guardian): As part of Percival Rackham’s quest series, you will encounter the Guardian. He is likely to be one of the bigger challenges, and tactics should be used against him. During the fight, you should avoid his attacks as much as possible and throw the magic bullets he fires at you back at him. For the purple colored magic balls, it’s best to use Depulso, and for the yellow colored ones, the Leviosa spell helps. Furthermore, during the fight you should fill up the old magic meter to fire the old magic at the guard to do a lot of damage.
The guardian opposes you with all his might.
  • Forest Troll: The forest troll is out to get you in the follow-up quest after Rackham’s mission. He puts himself between you and the goblin relic you are supposed to find. In the fight with this Hogwarts Legacy boss, you should be careful not to get too far away from the forest troll. Then he starts hurling boulders at you. In close combat, however, he attacks you with his big club.
  • Mountain Troll: The fantasy role-playing game Hogwarts Legacy offers a variety of enemies and ways to stand your ground in battle. You will often encounter different types of trolls, some of which are stronger and represent bosses. The trailers often showed a mountain troll rushing at you with his big club. These are sometimes tipped with earth and plants or trees, or attack with elemental attacks like ice. Tactics against the trolls can vary in battle, as you fight in close combat or attack from a distance by throwing objects.
  • Dragons: Among the most feared but probably cool bosses are probably the dragons. These come in different varieties in Hogwarts Legacy, with differences in appearance, elemental attack and weakness, and tactics for fighting them. The approach against the flying monsters in battle differs depending on the attack pattern and elemental damage.
You should not take a fight against a dragon lightly.
  • Bridge Guardian: A first glimpse of the Guardian could already be seen in the State-of-Play video for the game (starting at 4:42 minutes). The guards, like the trolls or dragons, can appear as small bosses in different variants and associated different attack patterns. One example is the Bridge Guardian and the Pensieve Guardian, which we list earlier in the article.

Note: This Hogwarts Legacy Guide will be expanded to include the other bosses in the coming days.
