In the survival game Sons of the Forest you’ll end up on an island full of dangers. From the first day, you’ll fight for survival, where, besides getting food and drink, you’ll also have to contend in battles against cannibals or mutants. Especially in combat, good weapons are of course a great advantage. In this guide we will show you how to get one of the best melee weapons in the game, the katana.

One of the best weapons in Sons of the Forest is the katana. In a melee, islanders or mutants can’t hold a candle to you with a gun. However, the sword must first be found on the large map and we will show you where exactly it is hidden.
However, before you can get the katana, you need the shovel as well as the maintenance key card. On the following picture we have marked the bunker for you, where you can get the matching keycard.
After you get the maintenance key card, you need to go to the bunker where the melee weapon can be found. The bunker is located in a cave, which is located in the southeast of the map.
Once in the bunker, go further down and find the katana in one of the living rooms. There, the katana lies on a sword stand, just waiting to be collected. To draw the sword faster in battle, you can open your inventory and put the weapon into one of your quickslots. After that, you don’t have to open the backpack and you can draw the sword by pressing a key.
