The survival shooter Palworld from Japanese developer Poketpair already won over a large number of players when it was released on January 19, 2024. In the video game, the creatures called Pals take center stage. They appear in the open game world in a wide variety of species and variants and can be captured by you with the help of the Pal spheres.
You can kill and loot the Pals or capture them. As a captured companion, the creatures can help you move around the open game world, build or fight. In this guide, we summarize everything you need to know about the Pal Spheres.
These Pal spheres are available in Palworld
In Palworld, you can create various Pal Spheres during the course of the game to catch the Pals. These differ in appearance and have different effects. These spheres exist:
- (Normal) Pal Sphere: You unlock the normal Pal Sphere at level 2 and can recognize it by its blue color. This can be made or found in the game world. The catch chance is in the normal range and suitable for catching weaker pals.
- Mega Pal Sphere: You unlock the Mega Pal Sphere at level 14 and can recognize it by its green color. You can create these with the help of the Sphere Workshop Level 1 or find them in chests. The catch chance is better than with the normal Pal Sphere and you can catch stronger Pals with it.
- Giga Pal Sphere: You unlock the Giga Pal Sphere at level 20 and can recognize it by its yellow color. The catch chance is better than with the Mega Pal Sphere and you can catch medium-strength Pals with it.
- Hyper Pal Sp here: You unlock the Hyper Pal Sphere at level 27 and can recognize it by its orange-red color. You will need a level 2 Sphere Workshop to make it. The chance of catching it is better than with the Giga Pal Sphere and you can also use it to catch strong and very strong Pals.
- Ultra Pal Sphere: You unlock the Ultra Pal Sphere at level 35 and can recognize it by its pink color. The capture chance is better than with the Hyper Pal Sphere and, according to the description, virtually no Pal escapes from this sphere when it is captured.
- Legendary Pal Sp here: You unlock the Legendary Pal Sphere at level 44 and can recognize it by its purple color. The catch chance is better than with the Ultra Pal Sphere and currently (as of January 2024) the best item for catching Pals.
How to create Pal spheres in Palworld
You will need various workbenches and materials to create the Pal Spheres for catching the Pals in Palworld. The following table summarizes the items required for production.

To obtain paldium fragments in Palworld, you need a pickaxe. In the open game world you will find blue paldium stones, which you must destroy in order to obtain the fragments.
How to increase the chance of catching Pals in Palworld
To catch one of the many wild Pals in Palworld and add it to your team, you need Pal Spheres. These have different chances of being caught (see above). We will show you below how you can further increase this chance.
- Weaken the Pal: To catch a Pal more quickly and easily, you must first weaken it before throwing the sphere. Make sure that your already captured Pals do not interfere with this process, as they will attack the wild Pal until it gives up the ghost.
- Sacrifice Lifmunk statues: In the open game world of Palworld, you will occasionally find Lifmunk statues, which you can recognize by their green color. You can sacrifice these to statues of power to increase your chances of catching them.
