German developer Keen Games released a real surprise hit in early 2024 with the survival role-playing game Enshrouded. The video game is currently in the early access phase on Steam and is due to be released for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S at the end of 2024.
To create certain items or blueprints, you have to find NPCs (characters) in the game world as part of a quest. These include the huntress, the farmer’s wife, the blacksmith and the carpenter. Enshrouded: Location of the alchemist Balthazar
One of the people you have to find as part of a quest series in Enshrouded is the alchemist Balthazar. When you start the quest “Powerful Alchemy”, you have to find the crypt where it is located. The location will be displayed on the map as soon as you have activated the quest. To complete the quest, you should already have the grappling hook and the glider.
To enter the crypt, you must first kill the enemies in front of the entrance. Once in the crypt, take the left-hand corridor and climb one of the two staircases you see in front of you. You will find the alchemist’s soul in the large room. However, before you can free him and take him to your camp, you have to kill the enemies in front of him.

The alchemist Balthazar offers you many helpful blueprints. You also gain access to spells and magical equipment. In order to be able to use the more advanced blueprints, you will unlock the laboratory, the grindstone and the mortar later on in the game.
Unlocking it also gives you the opportunity to brew magic potions such as the health potion. This should be of great use to you in your upcoming battles. In order to arm yourself well against the miasma, you can also obtain the miasma survivor vial.
