The Japanese developer Poketpair has given the survival shooter Palworld a large open game world with lots to discover. You will encounter Pals of all different types, which you can capture and build your own base using the building system.
During your journey through the world and your activities, you collect experience points and become stronger and stronger over time. The first free modifications could be downloaded and installed shortly after release. In this article, we present the most popular Palworld mods.

How to install Palworld mods for the Steam & Xbox version
There are a lot of Palworld mods that you can install. You can find the installation instructions on the respective mod page. Currently (as of February 2024 ) you cannot download any modifications for the PC version of Palworld in the Steam Wokshop. You can download and install these via sites such as NexusMods.com or CurseForge.com.
Steam: If you own the Steam version of the video game, you often have to adjust the “Mods.txt” file in the Steam folder. To do this, navigate to the respective hard disk ( by default this is “C:”) where you have installed the Steam folder. The path is then: “Steam\steamapps\common\Palworld\Binaries\Win64\Mods”
Xbox (Game Pass): Palworld modifications cannot be installed directly on the Xbox One or Xbox Series version. However, it is possible to modify the PC Game Pass version via the Xbox app_.
- Open Palworld in the Xbox app
- Navigate to the three dots next to the “Play” button and click on “Manage”.
- Click on “Files” and then on “Browse”. Now navigate to the Palworld folder and click on “Contents”.
- In it you will find the “Paks” folder, where you can store the modification.
Note: The “UE4SS” extension must be installed for some Palworld modifications. You can download these from this GitHub page. This video clearly explains the installation process.

These are the best mods for Palworld
The survival shooter Palworld already offers mod support on release. You can download these for free from sites such as NexusMods or CurseForge and install the mods as you wish. Below we present the best and most popular modifications.
The legal “Pokémon” Palworld mod “The Legally-Distinct Pocket Creatures Mod Pack”
Shortly after the release of Palworld, there was a Pokémon modification that brought the well-known pocket monsters and even trainer Ash Ketchum into the game. Publisher Nintendo reacted quickly, of course, and the mod was taken off the net.
Modder ToastedShoe’s “The Legally-Distinct Pocket Creatures Mod Pack” provides a little remedy here and is a parody of the Pokémon mod. Trainer Ash Ketchum becomes an image of the modder himself and Pikachu quickly becomes Cattiva.
Remove Flying Stamina Cost
With the “Remove Flying Stamina Cost” modification, your flying with a Flying Pal will be very relaxed in future. This removes the Pals’ Flying stamina and allows you to move around in the air for hours if necessary.
Digimon with weapons? This is possible with the “” mod
The fact that the Pokémon modification was taken offline by Nintendo has not stopped the modder community behind Palworld from bringing other well-known franchises into the game. The modderSVBOY already offers some mods that change some Pals in Digimons. However, if you want to have the strong Garurumon in your team, you can also find this mod on NexusMods.
Carry Weight Increase
With “Carry Weight Increase”, your problem with carrying weight is a thing of the past. Click to increase the carrying weight limit from 300 to any value and stop worrying about a full inventory.
Steam Deck Essentials
If you want to play Palworld on a gaming handheld such as Steam Deck, Lenovo Legion Go or Asus ROG Ally, you should take a look at “Steack Deck Essentials” by modder TheHybred. It offers you a file with the best graphics settings for a smooth gaming experience.
Enhanced Visuals
If you have a powerful PC and want to play Palworld with better graphics settings, “Enhanced Visuals” is just the thing for you. For example, increase the range of vision in the game or increase the resolution.
Game Tweaks
With the “Game Tweaks” mod, you can customize Palworld according to your own wishes. After installation, you can increase or decrease all values, such as the experience points for an activity or the probability of special glowing or larger Shiny Pals appearing.
Toggle HUD
Would you like to take particularly beautiful in-game photos in Palworld? Then “Toggle HUD” is just right for you. You can simply click to switch off the display of values such as names or numbers and only see what is happening in the game.
