Baldur’s Gate 3 Guide: How to get an owl bear cub as a pet

On your journey through the vast Baldur’s Gate 3 game world, sooner or later you will come across owl bears. These creatures sometimes have cute owl bear cubs and you can get one of them as your own pet if you follow the steps below.

The first time you meet the cute little creature is in an owl bear’s nest. You will find this next to a bridge to the west of the Emerald Grove. Once there, you will meet the creature’s mother, where several options open up to you. You can avoid a fight or defeat the mother in battle. Once you have defeated the owl bear in battle, you must interact with the cub and, of course, leave it alive.

If you want to get to the owl cub in Baldur’s Gate 3, you first have to get past its mother.

The second meeting takes place in the goblin camp, which is located near the destroyed village. Here you have to accept the quest from the goblin called Krolla. This involves chasing chickens, where you can also bet an additional amount of money on winning or losing. Now you must approach the owlbear cub and kneel down with a wisdom roll of “10”. Then lure it to the post nearby with a successful wisdom roll of “15”. To finish, you now have to interact with the boy again and lure him closer to you. Now collect your reward from Krolla, persuade her to give you the creature and complete the quest.

If you don’t want to take part in the hunt, you can either give Krolla 500 gold for the cub, persuade her to give it to you or intimidate her. Decide for yourself which approach you want to take.
