A wise proverb says that everything has an end, only the sausage has two. The sci-fi role-playing game Cyberpunk 2077 from Polish developer CD Projekt even has six different endings (epilogues). And with the major expansion Phantom Liberty, four more were added. In our guide to the game, we summarize all the endings and tell you what you need to do to unlock them.

Cyberpunk 2077: These are all the endings of the house game

The sci-fi blockbuster Cyberpunk 2077 invites you to get to know a fictional dystopian future in the year 2077. After creating your own character in the editor and choosing a class at the start of the game, you can travel freely through the open game world and get to know a wide variety of people. These include several possible relationship partners of the protagonist V.

The game’s epilogue changes depending on the decisions and dialog options you make during the course of the video game. You often decide between life and death. The most important decisions have to be made in the main mission “Nocturne Op55N1”. Below we summarize the different endings and the respective requirements in Cyberpunk 2077.

Which ending will you unlock in Cyberpunk 2077?
End 1: “Where is My Mind?”

In the main mission HM 27 “Nocturne Op55N1”, you decide to trust Hanako Arasaka. This decision leads to the main mission HM 28 “Last Caress”, where you either become part of the “Secure your soul” program or return to Earth.

End 2: “All Along the Watchtower”

Prerequisite: Complete the entire quest series with “Queen of the Highway” with Aldecaldos member Panam Palmer before the main mission. As part of “HM 27” during your stay on the balcony, you now have the additional option of playing the rest of the epilogue together with Palmer.

If you successfully complete the main missions and enter Mikoshi, rocker legend and co-protagonist Johny Silverhand will leave your body and remain in cyberspace from now on. You, however, leave Night City together with Panam Palmer and the Nomads. She mentions in the credits that she knows someone who could help you. You don’t find out whether the rescue is successful, but new hope germinates within you.

In the end, the Aldecaldos and Panam Palmer are a great help.
End 3: “New Dawn Fades”

The Cyberpunk 2077 ending “New Dawn Fades” can be unlocked by following one of the options below:

  • During the main mission “HM-27” you put your trust in Rogue Amendiares. (Prerequisite is the completion of her side mission “Blistering Love”)
  • During the main mission “HM-27”, you put your trust in Panam Palmer. (Prerequisite for this is the completion of your quest series)

Different main missions follow and at the end you choose the option in Mikoshi to cross the bridge together with Alt Cunningham. You stay with her in cyberspace and Johnny Silverhand takes over your body.

End 4: “Path of Glory”

The Cyberpunk 2077 ending “Path of Glory” can be unlocked by following one of the options below:

  • During the main mission “HM-27” you put your trust in Rogue Amendiares. (Prerequisite is the completion of her side mission “Blistering Love”)
  • During the conversation in “HM-26” with Johnny Silverhand, he simply doesn’t answer for a few minutes. Silverhand then interprets the silence himself and another option is unlocked, in which V attacks Arasaka Tower single-handedly without support (more on this at the end of 6).

Different main missions follow and at the end you choose the option to enter Mikoshi via the shaft. From this point on, Johnny Silverhand remains in cyberspace and V becomes a Night City legend.

Are you leaving your earthly life behind in Mikoshi, or is Johnny Silverhand staying with Alt Cunningham in cyberspace?
End 5: “Path of least resistance”

You can choose the “path of least resistance” after choosing one of the paths mentioned earlier in this Cyberpunk 2077 guide. After reconsidering your choice in the corresponding dialog, you hold a weapon in one hand and pills in the other. To avoid putting your friends in any further danger, you decide to commit suicide.

End 6: “The suicide mission”

In addition to the Cyberpunk 2077 epilogues listed above, there is also a sixth ending. If you choose this ending, you should already be highly leveled and good at fighting. During the conversation with Johnny Silverhand in the main mission “Nocturne Op55N1”, you do not select any of the answer options shown and remain silent. After a few minutes, Johnny Silverhand interprets this himself and thinks you don’t want to put your friends in any more danger.

In one of the Cyberpunk 2077 endings, you storm the Arasaka Tower alone.

As an alternative option, Silverhand suggests a “suicide trip”. The two companions now decide to storm Arasaka Tower single-handedly. As already mentioned, your skills should be well leveled and your equipment and weapons should be good, as many strong opponents await you in Arasaka Tower. If you die in the process, the game’s credits will start immediately. This ending is one of the most challenging in terms of combat.

Cyberpunk 2077: These are all the endings of the DLC “Phantom Liberty”

With the release of the major Cyberpunk 2077 expansion Phantom Liberty, developer CD Projekt has expanded the game. Unfortunately, there are no new romance options, but there are new endings (epilogues). In the tenth main mission of the DLC “Firestarter”, you have to choose between Song So Mi “Songbird” and Solomon Reed.

Depending on which decision and subsequent decisions you make, you will unlock different endings. If you help Songbird, the quest “Killing the Moon” follows. If you support Reed, however, the quests “Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos”, “Somewhat Damaged” and “Leave in Silence” follow.

This is how Phantom Liberty ends if you help Songbird: After you decide to help Songbird and escape from the stadium, the quest “The Killing Moon” starts. As part of the mission, you have to enter a spaceport and take Songbird to a shuttle. On the way there, however, you find out that she has lied to you and wants to appropriate the healing that was meant for you for herself. Once you arrive at the shuttle, you now have the following options:

Will you choose Songbird in Phantom Liberty?

Let Songbird into the shuttle: You kill Reed and Songbird flies off in the shuttle without you. You will therefore not be cured. After that, you can devote yourself to the main quests of the main game and choose one of the normal epilogues.

Betray Songbird and hand him over to Reed: When you hand Songbird over to Reed, you ask him to keep his promise. This unlocks a new ending to the main game in which you are actually healed.

This is how Phantom Liberty ends if you help Reed

If you have chosen the agent Solomon Reed in the Cyberpunk 2077 “Phantom Liberty” main quest “Firestart”, the follow-up quest “Somewhat Damaged” will start. Here you enter the Cynosure facility, which gives you access to the Militech Canto MK6 Cyberware and the iconic “Erebus” weapon, among other things. At the end of the quest, you again have two options:

Kill Songbird: After your decision, the quest “Leave in Silence” starts, in which Reed expresses sadness about Songbird’s demise. Since Myers previously told you to bring Songbird alive and you killed her, Myers will not help you heal.

Do not kill Songbird: The quest “Leave in Silence” also starts when you vote. This time you meet Myers all together. She will present you with a special medal as a thank you. In your conversation with Myers, you now enquire about the promised support for healing. Reed replies that he will get back to you at a later date.

Will you choose Solomon Reed in Phantom Liberty?

This unlocks a new ending to the main game in which you are healed. To do this, you either have to help Songbird and hand him over to Reed at the shuttle, or you help Reed and let Songbird live. The first option starts the quest “Through Pain to Heaven” and you will later meet Reed at a petrol station. The second option starts the quest “Somewhat Damaged” and you meet Reed on the basketball court in Dogtown. In both cases, he will tell you that NUSA scientists are preparing your operation.

Now start the quest “Who wants to live Forever”, where you go to the roof of Misty’s Esoterica. Here you contact Reed and a NUSA transporter takes you to a hospital for your operation. After the operation you will fall into a 2-year coma. The operation cured you of your “chip problem” and also removed all your cyberware from your body. Now you return to Night City and can contact your old acquaintances, for whom life has gone on for two years without you.
