With the survival shooter Palworld, the Japanese developer Poketpair 2024 released a video game that is likely to remind many players strongly of Pokémon. The crucial difference, however, is that you can not only level up your captured Pals, but also yourself and make the creatures work for you.
The first modification, which replaced Pals with Pokémons, was released shortly after the game was released. Rights holder Nintendo was not long in taking action. The Palworld mod had to be taken offline as a result, but there is already an alternative. We present these to you in our article.

The open-world shooter Palworld hit like a bomb and has already won over millions of players. After you have created your own character in the character editor, you enter an open game world full of creatures called Pals. These are available in a wide variety of shapes and with different types. You can set up your own base in the construction menu, capture the Pals and have them fight or work for you.
The modder community is also enjoying the video game and has already made numerous free modifications available for download since its release. One of these was a Pokémon mod that replaces Pals with the pocket monsters from the well-known video game series. Nintendo didn’t like it at all and the modder had to put it on ice. However, there is now a kind of replacement for this modification, which is also called “The Legally-Distinct Pocket Creatures Mod Pack”. This does exactly the same as the previous mod, except that the modder is now in a gray area.
The Pals no longer look exactly like Pokémon, but only similar … or you could guess which pocket monster is meant. Instead of Pikachu, for example, you can now face the “yellow rat” in battle. This is a clear reference to the well-known game franchise and many players will certainly find it funny.
