How to increase your inventory in Hogwarts Legacy
You’ll fill your inventory in Hogwarts Legacy abundantly by completing quests or collecting items and equipment in the open game world. You will quickly reach your limits in the size of the inventory, as it is limited. And let’s face it, what’s worse than trying to collect a valuable item and your inventory is full?
To solve the problem with the full inventory, there are several ways. You can sell the collected items at a merchant, scrap equipment or increase inventory slots.
When starting a new save in Hogwarts Legacy, you will have a total of 20 inventory slots available at the beginning of the game. To be able to increase these slots, you need to solve Merlin’s puzzle. These are located throughout the game world in various places. In total there are 95 puzzles of this type.
Important: To start a puzzle of Merlin mallow leaves are needed. You can buy these from dealers. However, it is recommended to buy the seeds to be able to grow and harvest them yourself. Once you have successfully solved several puzzles, you will have to unlock the additional inventory slots via the game menu. To do this, navigate to the Challenges menu item and the Exploration sub-item via the Settings menu.

All Merlin puzzles and their solution in the overview
The puzzles left by Merlin in the game world are distributed throughout the world. Once you’ve found one, to activate it you need to interact with them and throw mallow leaves over it. The total of 95 puzzles are designed differently, although there are often the same solution patterns of the puzzle types.
In this Hogwarts Legacy Guide, we will introduce you to the puzzle types and their solutions. These can be divided into certain types of puzzles. Merlin has designed them so that objects must be destroyed, objects must be placed in jigs, butterflies must be placed in enchanted rocks, or fire bowls must be lit.
- A device and several small stone balls: This puzzle is relatively easy to solve. With the help of a spell like Accio or Wingadium Leviosa, you’ll have to get the stone balls into designated holes. For each puzzle is equipped with several holes in the Ground
- A device and one or more large stone balls: This puzzle can be solved like the one mentioned before. With the help of a spell like Accio or Wingadium Leviosa, you’ll have to get the large stone ball into a designated hole.
